Hi, I am LeahG Graphic Artist and Cartoonist and founder of the International Group ‘ Cartoonists & Illustrators United‘.
Welcome to my ‘art attack’ website.
If I don’t sort out my working hours soon, that’ll be ‘heart attack’ 
I have been drawing and enjoying all things art since I was knee-high to a grasshopper and am generally an all-round creative person. I have always captured the funnier moments of my own life and that of others with quirky cartoons and caricatures and now, finally at the ripe old age of **** I am pleased to say that finally my passion is my career.
I say ‘finally’ because although I did follow an arty route on leaving school, practical issues and ‘life’ got in the way and I instead followed a business management direction which included being Practice Manager of a Beacon NHS Health Centre and various retail management roles. Boooooooo to that!
I enjoyed every moment of creativity that was afforded me during that time though they were few and far between. Management was only ever a means to an end, art was always where my heart was. I never dreamed though that I could make art pay.
Like many people, being able to earn a living out of something we truly enjoy is a privilege and so I am delighted that 8yrs ago I was able to step out of the business management mind-set and back into one of creative bliss, working from home, enjoying my young family and acquiring an ever larger menagerie of pets.
I try to give back in whatever way I can by offering my support to fellow artists (see ‘Groups’ below) and doing free design work for charitable organisations. I hope to continue along this path until I am pushing up daisies. And that is the beauty of a career in art and design…age is immaterial.
To date, this is the venture that gives me the most opportunities to learn, to expand and to thoroughly enjoy what I do. I do my best to deliver the best possible results to clients and good, friendly communication is key to my business success. Due to my business background I have a very thorough understanding of the needs of my clients and can be relied upon to deliver a professional service.

Around 2010 I formed the International Cartoonist & Illustrator Group called ‘Cartoonists United’ to provide free support and free promotion of the creative works of cartoonists and illustrators around the world. We have many prestigious members as well as novices and we grow in strength and number daily.

ZOO Keeper
I was a ‘zoo student’ (animal care course) for 2-yrs and I cleaned up poop on an enormous scale which is beyond average mans comprehension! One particularly delightful job involved cleaning out the monkey enclosures because monkeys somehow manage to poop 360 degrees and get it all over the ceiling. Now..visualise…a broom held aloft, a hose held aloft…where do you think the poop when dislodged, falls and drips? Yes…not pleasant. And no showers on site so one had a very smelly bus trip home.
Parachute Jumper – charitable endeavour
I did a solo parachute jump aged 19yrs…after being ‘pushed out’ my parachute pack got wedged in the doorway and I bounced into the side of the plane on my exit. More than that I won’t say incase children are reading. I did this jump to raise money for the Retinitis Pigmentosa Foundation. This is a condition which causes blindness. I was working in an Optical practice at that time, hence the choice. I persuaded 4 colleagues to join me on the jump!
Courses..courses..and more courses
I love learning and any opportunity to do so will be ‘sucked’ right up! In the last 30yrs I have thus enjoyed a variety of part and full time study from Flower Arranging to Philosophy. I am also a qualified Stress Consultant and Character Analyst. I love learning about people and if I wasn’t a cartoonist I’d be a forensic scientist. Or not!!
Likes…
I am a closet Trekky. I love Star Trek and am a huge fan of Mr Shatner. I also like most criminal and period dramas. The Big Bang Theory is currently my favourite comedy. I could (time allowing) easily watch it back to back for hours.
