How much does it cost?
There is a list of fees here. For anything else please complete the contact form and request a quote.
How long will it take?
Some jobs can be completed within 48hrs others take longer depending on the size of the project. For the sake of providing timely services, I give a guideline of 7-14 days. However I have never missed a shorter deadline yet.
What if I don’t like the design?
The first design is hit and miss and this (and a couple of other ideas) will be created to determine your preferred aesthetic. In other words, when I get a clear idea of what you like through small trials we will find something you like. Tweaks and adjustments are part of the process to ensure you are 100% happy with the final image.
What image file types do I need?
If you’re having something printed your printer may have their own preferences regarding this so please do ask them. Otherwise I generally supply images for website use as 72dpi jpg/png files. For printing I provide 300dpi PDF/PNG files and if vector a SVG file. I can supply other file types too, so just let me know in advance what you require.
What to consider when hiring a cartoonist?
What is a vector graphic / image file?
Vector art is made from a series of mathematical curves that produces a clear sharp print even when resized. For example, you can print a vector image as at postage stamp size and then enlarge it to fill a billboard without losing any quality of image. If this was a low-resolution raster graphic the larger image would appear blurry and pixellated.
These days many signmakers and printers prefer to work with vector art image files as they are scalable. The most popular vector art software is Adobe Illustrator, this is the current industry standard for producing vector images. A free alternative is InkScape. Vector graphics editors allow you to rotate, move, resize, mirror, stretch, deform (transform) without any loss of image quality. You can remove selected parts, edit them, replace them. You can also add a variety of image filters which can incorporate textures, shadows, light effects, colour variations and so on.
The options are almost limitless.
What is a cartoon logo?
Cartoon Logos are essentially illustrative logos whereby the illustration itself has the appearance of a traditional cartoon character as oppose to being a digital art graphic or fine art illustration. Typical cartoon logos feature cartoon characters such as animals, comic book superheros and a wide variety of inanimate items which are brought to life in cartoon form. Consider for example a photocopier with eyes, mouth, arms and legs.
Cartoon logos are used in businesses whereby the service aims to attract an audience visually. Cartoon logos are memorable and can become the face of the brand as they are often loveable, fun characters which people recognise easily and enjoy looking at.
